DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

We have added some questions that we get asked all the time. We hope the answers help you. As always, don't hesitate to contact us via email or our Facebook page if there is anything else we can do to help!

What is the cost of membership and what is the duration?

Our membership fees are $20 per 12 month period for adults and $7 per 12 month period for juniors who are aged 14 and under at the time of joining.

We are proud to be able to keep our membership costs low for the community and we are certain you will find value for money.

What should I bring to an SRG run session?

You should come to an SRG session in appropriate running attire, something comfortable that allows movement. Wear appropriate running footwear, a hat and sunscreen during the day, and please bring water!

If you are coming to a long run then please consider wearing a running vest or running belt to carry water and your chosen nutrition if required.

Some of our night runs will run in dark areas. It is always a good idea to have a small light with you. The Run Leader will note if a headlight is required on the post in our closed Facebook Group.

If you are heading out on the trails, please always take water, a snake bandage or tape if you have some. Our Run Leaders will carry a bandage and tape if required.

Trail running at night will always require you to bring a headlight. There is no lighting on the trails and you will need a fairly competent light to give you good visibility.

Some sessions request you bring a mat or a roller. These sessions will always indicate this on the Facebook post so check out our closed Facebook Group for more information.

The SRG closed Facebook Group is the best place to find all the information including the route, the Run Leader for the session, the meeting points and any special requirements.

How fast do I need to run?

Each of the run groups has a guideline pace and this will be indicated in the post in the closed Facebook Group.

If you arent sure, then please feel free to comment on the post and clarify with the Run Leader.

Do I need to be a financial member to come to a run?

No, you do not need to be a financial member to come along to one of our run sessions.

The benefits of becoming a financial member are significant and do include insurance if you happen to hurt yourself on a run. This is not available to non-financial members.

For all the benefits of becoming a financial member please visit the Membership tab.

Where do I meet for a running session?

If you are running at 5am, then please meet at the Orion Lagoon carpark at 455am to meet your Run Leader.

If you are running at any of the night sessions, please meet at the KMart Tyre and Auto carpark right next to the Caltex fuel station at Orion.

Occasionally, the meeting points may vary. Any information will be on the closed Facebook Group.

Where do I meet for a running session?

Which running group is best for my child?

If your child is Grade 4 or over and interested in more structured run training then the SRG McGrath Youth Squad is the right session for them.

If your child is a youngster even as young as 2, and wants to come down and join in a fun, high energy running session, then the SRG McGrath Kids Running Group is the right session for them. This group caters for the little ones right up to the teenagers.

We have some kids that love to come to both! Harness their energy and come and join them!

Do I need to stay with my child at the Kids sessions?

We know that you would love some kid free time but please remain at the location of the running session. In Queensland we can quite often have sudden onset of weather events and we may need to cut the sessions short. Not only that but there are many children at these sessions and we are unable to monitor every single one at all times.

You are more than welcome to join in, so feel free to put your running shoes on and come and join them :)
